Thank you to Michelle Roche for letting us use her photos that capture a variety of marine sports in Europe and the United Kingdom, including kite boarding and wind surfing.
In Michelle’s words:
My first experience of taking photos was when I was about 6 or 7 years old when I went on holiday with my parents. My father would let me take photos with his camera which was a Kodak Retinette 1A. After that my parents bought me my own Kodak Instamatic camera. Nowadays Im using a Canon 50D, Canon 20D, Canon D30, a 100-400mm Canon IS USM, and a 17-85mm Canon IS USM.

John Hales is our latest contributor in our effort to feature talented sports photographers from around the world. I like John’s mix of old and new sports:
Here’s a bit about John’s background from his profile on Flickr:
Born in Manchester a very long time ago, before Manchester United were the greatest footy team in the world, but Lancashire was the home great cricket (and still is).
Started taking pix when I was given bakerlite Brownie 127 at the age of 9. Have been snapping off and on ever since. Love digital, but still run one or two rolls of slide film, if only because the local camera club does slide competitions.
